Newcastle’s rising surf stars will finally get their chance to compete as the 2025 Newcastle Regional Junior Titles has been rescheduled.

Originally set for last weekend, the competition was postponed due to extreme weather and dangerous surf conditions. Organisers are now set to run the event in the best waves of the day, ensuring a fair and competitive showcase of young talent.

This prestigious competition is the only pathway for junior surfers in the region to qualify for the NSW State Surfing Titles in Coffs Harbour, taking place in late May.

A strong performance at the state level can then open the door to the 2025 ISA World Junior Titles, the ultimate goal for young amateur surfers.

Newcastle has a proud history of producing world-class talent, with local surfers Ocean Lancaster and Eden Hasson having previously reached this elite stage.

The competition will be a one-day affair, kicking off at 7 AM and running through until approximately 4:30 PM. Organisers will keep a close eye on conditions to ensure the event is held in the best possible surf.

The 2025 Newcastle Regional Junior Titles has been rescheduled to Sunday, 13 April. Keep an eye on Surfing Newcastle for further updates.
