Newcastle music fans will have one final chance to witness a true Australian legend as Russell Morris brings his Farewell Tour to the Civic Theatre this August.
After an illustrious career spanning nearly six decades, Russell is set to step away from the relentless touring circuit, marking the end of an era for the ARIA-winning singer-songwriter.
Best known for his groundbreaking 1969 hit The Real Thing, has spent a lifetime captivating audiences across Australia.
From the smoky clubs of the ’60s to the grand concert halls of today, he has continuously evolved, experimenting with folk, rock, and blues throughout his extensive discography.
His final tour promises to be a retrospective celebration, featuring career-defining hits such as Hush, Sweet Sweet Love, Wings of an Eagle, and selections from his award-winning blues trilogy.
Adding to the spectacle, Russell will be accompanied by a 13-piece all-star band, complete with a string quartet, ensuring a powerful and immersive experience for fans.
While he remains open to the occasional one-off performance in the future, this tour signals the end of his regular touring days.
