UK rock icons The Darkness are bringing their signature chaos, charm and high-voltage hits to Newcastle’s Bar on the Hill as part of their 2026 Australia & New Zealand tour.

Following a sold-out 2024 run and riding high on the release of their new album Dreams On Toast, the band is primed to deliver a night of outrageous fun, arena-ready riffs and nostalgic rock glory.

This tour marks fans’ first chance to hear new tracks like I Hate Myself and The Longest Kiss live, alongside classics such as Love Is Only A Feeling and the eternal crowd favourite I Believe In A Thing Called Love.

The Darkness exploded onto the scene in the early 2000s with their debut album, Permission to Land, a glam-rock masterpiece that catapulted them into the global spotlight.

With over 1.5 million albums sold, a BRIT Award haul, and unforgettable performances at festivals like Reading and Leeds, the band carved out their own place in rock history.

Known for their theatrics, soaring falsettos and tongue-in-cheek showmanship, a Darkness show is less a gig and more a full-blown spectacle. Expect spandex. Expect solos. Expect to leave hoarse from singing along to every word.

Newcastle fans can expect the Bar on the Hill to be transformed into a shrine to glorious excess, as Justin Hawkins and co. light up the stage with the kind of unfiltered energy and irreverence that only The Darkness can deliver.

The Darkness will hit Bar on the Hill on Sunday 22 February 2026. Presale for The Darkness at Bar on the Hill begins Wednesday 23 July at 12pm AEST. General tickets go on sale Monday 28 July. For all tour info and to sign up for early access, head to https://sbmpresents.com.
