The program for the 2022 Newcastle Fringe Festival has landed and it’s packed with quirky, unique and unusual events.
Lots of local artists will make their return to the Fringe stage including Clark Gormley, Hannah Indigo, BlackStarr Cabaret, The Lou Chapman Show, and comedienne Eddy Rockefeller.
Last year’s Best Premier Show winner Steve Wilson will also return with his latest offering Don’t Touch Me – A Tale of Cats & Hugs.
There are also several artists on the bill that have toured extensively in their careers and have international profiles.
Shows from country music artists Catherine Britt and Henry Wagons are sure to be a highlight of the program along with performances from British artist Li Laurent and world-touring comedian and poet, Marty Bright.
Peter Berner, Tommy Dean and Darren Sanders will perform their Triple Treat Comedy show and there’s even a world-renowned basketball freestyler on the lineup with a show called, Basketball Man Can Fly.
“Fringe shows tend to be unconventional, less traditional and a true art experience. Some shows will be rough around the edges, some will be shocking, some will be hilarious, and others will be as good as anything you’d see at the Sydney Opera House,” said Liane Morris, Marketing Manager & Deputy Chair of Newcastle Fringe.
“The trick is working out which ones you’ll enjoy the most!”
The 2022 Newcastle Fringe Festival will take place in several venues across Newcastle and Hamilton over 8 days from Thursday the 17th until Sunday the 27th of March 2022. Visit newcastlefringe.com.au to find out more.
