Newcastle Comedy Festival has announced a second Gala night this July following overwhelming demand, with a fresh lineup set to take the stage.

The announcement comes as the first Gala continues to surge in ticket sales, already tracking as one of the fastest-selling events in the festival’s history.

With strong early demand showing no signs of slowing, organisers have moved quickly to expand the program, giving more comedy fans the chance to be part of the festival’s biggest night.

The newly announced Gala will deliver an entirely different lineup, ensuring audiences who missed out on the first show, or simply want more, can experience another high-energy evening of stand-up.

The move reinforces the event’s reputation as a cornerstone of the Newcastle Comedy Festival, bringing together some of the most exciting names in Australian and international comedy.

Leading the first lineup announcement for the July 25 Gala are Andrew Hamilton, Bec Charlwood, Dan Rath, John Cruckshank, Stephanie Broadbridge, Mel Buttle, Takashi Wakasugi and Paige Hally.

The mix of established favourites and rising stars promises a dynamic night packed with sharp observations, big laughs and diverse comedic styles.

The second Gala not only reflects the festival’s growing popularity but also highlights Newcastle’s appetite for live comedy.

By doubling down on its flagship event, the festival is cementing its place as a must-attend fixture on the city’s cultural calendar, drawing audiences from across the region.

The Newcastle Comedy Festival Gala 2 will take place on Saturday, July 25. Tickets are on sale now via civictheatrenewcastle.com.au, with strong demand expected following the rapid sales of the first Gala.
