The Newcastle Comedy Festival has locked in dates for its 2024 run.
Along with the save-the-date announcement, organisers have also dropped their first artist lineup giving us a taste of what will hit town for this year’s festival.
The whole thing will kick off on 28 June with a launch party at Earp Distilling featuring some of the best comedians from around Australia and New Zealand, and then roll into venues all around town until 21 July.
Comedians like Nick Capper, Melanie Bracewell and Nazeem Hussain are on the bill and (local boy done good), Cameron James will perform his Mixtape show about music, love and the one time he worked as a singing Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator at a now infamous theatre restaurant in Hamilton.
The lineup for the gala event at Civic Theatre has yet to be announced, but if the first lineup announcement is anything to go by it’s going to be a real cracker.
