Halloween celebrations in the Hunter are about to go to another level with the Newcastle Alternative Halloween Extravaganza descending on the city on 1 November

Promising a full day of frightful fun, gothic glamour, and community spirit the event is set to bring together over 50 vendors, live experiences, and eerie entertainment.

The inclusive celebration for all ages and identities, will transform Newcastle Exhibition Centre into a playground of pumpkins, potions, and paranormal delights. Attendees can carve their own jack-oโ€™-lanterns at the Pumpkin Carving Station, strike a pose at the Instant Photo Booth, and get a few friendly scares from roaming scare actors whoโ€™ll be haunting the crowd throughout the day.

Families can take part in a Trick or Treat Trail, winding through more than 50 stalls packed with sweet surprises, while collectors and alternative culture lovers will find treasures galoreโ€”from gothic fashion and handmade art to mystical curiosities and vintage gems.

Itโ€™s part artisan market, part immersive Halloween fantasy. And costumes are not just encouragedโ€”theyโ€™re practically mandatory.

Expect witches, ghosts, and vampires mingling with pirates, punk fairies, and maybe even the odd zombie barista.

“Itโ€™s about community, creativity, and having fun together,” event organisers said.

“Youโ€™ll find genuine craftsmanship, local artistry, and a chance to support small businesses that put their hearts into every creation.”

With plenty of interactive experiences, endless Halloween magic and a chance to connect with Newcastleโ€™s alternative and creative community, this is one spooky celebration you wont want to miss.

The Newcastle Alternative Halloween Extravaganza will take over the Newcastle Exhibition Centre from 12pm until 7pm on Friday, 1 November. Tickets are on sale now via humanitix.com.
