Newcastle music fans are in for a treat this October when the Wayfinder Tour lands at The Lass O’Gowrie thanks to MusicNSW.
Each year, MusicNSW supports five tours that stop in multiple venues across regional NSW to help artists and bands build touring skills and experience.
The free-entry show will feature an impressive line-up of regional talent, including Sunday Lemonade, Jacq Heart, Kealy Day and local favourites, Daniann and Georgie Winchester.
The tour showcases some of the most exciting emerging voices in the Australian folk and alternative scene. Duo Sunday Lemonade bring their infectious blend of heartfelt folk and roots-driven rock, fresh from festival appearances and support slots with acts like Sons of the East and The Little Quirks.
Crescent Head’s Jacq Heart merges alt-folk and cinematic pop with a soulful edge, drawing on influences from 60s folk to modern electro pop. Her work fuses music with dance, theatre and movement, creating a multi-layered performance that is both sonically rich and visually engaging.
North Coast songwriter Kealy Day delivers stories shaped by years of writing and lived experience, captured on his debut album Left Unsaid. With a background in both renewables and music, his live shows translate deeply personal reflection into captivating performance.
From Wonnarua Country, Georgie Winchester continues to make her mark with acoustic folk that blends seamlessly into Australia’s alternative rock landscape. She has supported Thelma Plum and The Rubens, and is preparing for an international showcase in Montreal.
Rounding out the bill is Newcastle’s own Daniann, whose stripped-back indie-folk sound pairs delicate vocals with reflective lyricism, offering audiences moments of stillness and connection.
The Wayfinder Tour opens at The Lass in Newcastle on Thursday 17 October, followed by shows in Bellingen and Yamba. Entry to all shows is free. To check out all of the regional tours MusicNSW has planned, head to musicnsw.com.
