ONE EXPLOSIVE EVENING: Music of the Guns returns to Fort Scratchley

Newcastle is once again poised for an explosive evening when Music of the Guns hits Fort Scratchley in November.

The unique two-hour live music event features performances from the Australian Army Band Newcastle and the Waratah Brass Band.

Of course, the firing of Fort Scratchley’s historic MKVII guns is what it’s all about, and provides a thrilling crescendo adding an extraordinary element to the musical spectacle.

Presented by Fort Scratchley Historical Society, in partnership with Out of the Square Media, the event serves as a celebration of Newcastle’s rich history and vibrant cultural scene.

“Collaboration, creativity, and community are at the heart of Out of the Square’s values,” Managing Director of Out of the Square, Marty Adnum said.

“We’re excited to join forces with the Fort Scratchley Historical Society to bring ‘Music of the Guns’ to our wonderful Newcastle community. This event is a testament to the power of partnership and the magic of music.”

Ticket holders are encouraged to bring a small esky with drinks and snacks and something warm, just in case the weather cools down as the show gets underway.

Music of the Guns is happening on 4 November 2023 at Fort Scratchley. For more information and tickets visit fortscratchley.org.au/music-of-the-guns.
