Local alternative rock band In Motion have announced details of their debut EP Change, which is set to be released on Friday June 3.
The three-piece have released the lead single from the EP in anticipation of its release. โMy Kind Of Womanโ is the debut single from the band; a swampy blues affair calling to mind acts such as Kingswoord and Wolfmother. The three-piece jam out with overdriven vocals, a big chorus, and lots of sizzling guitar work. Check out the track below:
Change was recorded in December last year by Adam Jordan at Mainstreet Studios in Wollongong, and mastered by Tony โJack The Bearโ Mantz. In Motion are set to play at The Lass OโGowrie Hotel on Friday June 3 to launch the EP.
Despite being such a young band, In Motion have been around for over two years now. Forming in early 2014, and coming away the winners of the Hunter High School Rock Off in the same year. The early days of the band saw them playing numerous band competitions and all ages shows; the only gigs that were available to them. In Motion picked up the โPeopleโs Choiceโ award in the Youth Rockinโ The Black Dog competition, and also scored the top gong at Youth Rock 2015 in Sydney.
After finally coming of age late last year, the band have wasted no time making a name for themselves in the pubs and clubs of Newcastle; playing everywhere from The Cambridge to The Stag & Hunter, supporting bands such as The Sea Gypsies, The New Regulars, and Smoko Khan.
