Morisset High School will mark its 60th anniversary this August with a range of events that promise to bring together past and present students, staff, and the local community.
The school will host a series of events , including a massive community celebration, a comedy dinner and offer people the chance to take part in school tours.
It all kicks off on Thursday, 7 August and will culminate in an event featuring live music and festival vibes on Saturday, 10 August. You can check out all the details below.
GUIDED SCHOOL TOURS
7 – 8 AUGUST
MORISSET HIGH SCHOOL
Anniversary celebrations will kick off with guided tours of the school on Thursday and Friday (7-8 August).
Led by current Principal Darren Brailey, the tours will give alumni, current students, and the general public a chance to see how the school has evolved over the last six decades and include insights from the school’s executive team, who will highlight the changes and ongoing developments at the educational facility.
COMEDY DINNER
SATURDAY 9 AUGUST
MORISSET HIGH SCHOOL HALL: 5:30 PM
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the school will host a Comedy for a Cause fundraising dinner on Saturday, 9 August.
Ticket holders will be feasting on a two-course meal prepared and served by the school’s hospitality students and staff before a comedy showcase featuring a lineup of touring comedians, including Cam Knight, Dave Williams, and Brett Nichols
Proceeds from the night will go towards supporting the school’s ongoing development and initiatives.
COMMUNITY CELEBRATION
MORISSET HIGH SCHOOL
10 AUGUST: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
The weekend’s festivities will be culminate in a massive 60th Anniversary Community Celebration on the school grounds on Sunday, 10 August 10… And everyone’s invited!
Featuring a mix of live music, dance, art exhibitions, and historical displays the FREE EVENT will also showcase performances by students from local primary schools, including Bonnells Bay Public School, Cooranbong Public School, Dora Creek Public School, Morisset Public School, and Wyee Public School.
There’ll be carnival rides, kids’ activities and amusements, food trucks, and local art displays.
The main stage entertainment program will feature a number of performances by Morisset High School alumni, headlined by local artist Nikisha Priest.
