Australian art-pop favourite Montaigne is heading to Newcastle this August, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their breakthrough album Glorious Heights with a national tour that will see the acclaimed record performed live in full for the very first time.
The tour marks Montaigne’s first national run in four years and revisits the album that launched them into the spotlight after its release in 2016.
Debuting at No. 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and earning the ARIA Award for Breakthrough Artist, Glorious Heights introduced audiences to a bold new voice whose theatrical performances and emotionally charged songwriting quickly set them apart.
Alongside the complete album, fans can also expect a selection of favourites from across Montaigne’s catalogue.
Over the past decade, Montaigne has built an impressive career both at home and overseas.
They have represented Australia at Eurovision, collaborated with Talking Heads frontman David Byrne, and earned a Grammy nomination for their work with composer Austin Wintory on the musical video game Stray Gods.
Their 2025 self-produced album it’s hard to be a fish also attracted critical acclaim, while the viral collaboration “Red Flags” with Tom Cardy has amassed more than 170 million views on YouTube.
Known for blending pop, indie and theatrical influences, Montaigne has become one of Australia’s most distinctive live performers.
Their shows are celebrated for their emotional honesty, striking visuals and powerful vocals, creating an atmosphere that moves effortlessly between moments of joy, humour and heartfelt connection.
The anniversary tour promises to revisit the songs that first resonated with fans while showcasing the confidence and stagecraft developed over a decade of performing.
Beyond their music, Montaigne has become recognised for their advocacy for mental health and LGBTQIA+ communities, as well as their fearless creative approach across music, fashion and visual art.
The Glorious Heights anniversary tour offers fans old and new the chance to experience the album from beginning to end in a live setting, celebrating the record that helped define a generation of Australian alternative pop.
Montaigne will perform at King Street Warehouse in Newcastle on Saturday, 8 August as part of the Glorious Heights 10th Anniversary Tour. Tickets are on sale now through Select Music.
