Minecraft inspired LEGO adventures lead Maitland school holiday program

Bricks 4 Kidz will host Minecraft-inspired LEGO workshops at The Levee Shared Zone in Maitland these July School Holidays.

The free hands-on educational play programs will give children the chance to build their own unique creations inspired by the popular videogame, Minecraft.

Minecraft LEGO workshops will be held in The Levee Shared Zone from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on Mondays (4 and 11 July) and Fridays (8 and 15 July).

Knitting workshops, led by the Country Women’s Association, are also part of the school Holliday program.

The knit craft workshops will run from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on Tuesdays (5 and 12 July) and Thursdays (7 and 14 July) also in The Levee Shared Zone.

Textiles artist Louisa Magrics will also be sharing her crochet skills, teaching the first steps to create the massive webs she’s installed at VIVID, music festivals and last year’s Living Sculptures exhibition at The Levee.

Louisa’s workshops will run from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on Wednesday 6 and 13 July.

Newcastle Astronomical Society will also be stationed on the Riverside Walk from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Friday 8 July for an enjoyable evening of gazing up at the stars for eager astronomers of all ages.

Then, from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Saturday 23 July, The Levee will play host to the Warming the Streets Mini Market, where shoppers can sample some of the warmest and woolliest wares the Hunter has to offer.
