Ahead of her national tour, which kicks off tonight in Yenda, Melody Moko has released another killer single from her ARIA number one album, Suburban Dream.
Recorded in Nashville and finished off in Brisbane, the single is called Ain’t What You Used to Be and it’s another take-no-prisoners type of affair from an artist who has forged her own path and continues to win over new fans everywhere she played.
The song features harmonies from vocal powerhouse Jen Mize and a blend of guitars that will evoke memories of early Sheryl Crow and Shania Twain.
“First of all – the guitars on this track slay! They are probably the best guitar parts on any Melody Moko song ever,” Melody said.
“I’d been listening to an intense amount of Sheryl Crow here, you can hear it”.
Lyrically, the song seems to call out someone who’s let their ego take over.
“It’s actually about a fictionalised version of a future self who lets ego get the best of her,” Melody said.
Whatever the song is about, we’re pretty sure it’s headed straight to playlists right around the country.
