The annual Mega Creatures event is making its grand return to Hunter Valley Gardens this April.
Promising an immersive adventure filled with prehistoric giants, mythical beasts, and spine-tingling insects, Mega Creatures is a family-friendly spectacle that is set to captivate visitors of all ages.
Adding to the excitement, the event introduces the brand-new Land of Legends, a magical world blending fantasy and history. Set at the top of the Sunken Garden Waterfall, this enchanting realm will bring legendary creatures to life, creating a truly unforgettable experience for visitors.

Exciting Rides for Thrill-Seekers
Mega Creatures offers a variety of exhilarating rides, ensuring fun for the whole family. Available daily from 10am to 3:30pm, visitors can enjoy attractions including:
- Tea Cups – Spin and twirl in vibrant oversized cups.
- Swing Chair – Soar 11 metres above the ground for a thrilling rush.
- Venetian Carousel – A beautifully crafted Italian carousel for all ages.
- Ferris Wheel – Take in breathtaking views of the gardens from 25 metres high.
- Superslide – A 35-metre-long slide promising high-speed fun.
Ride tickets are available for $6 per ride, or visitors can purchase a 6-ride pass for $30 at the ride ticket booth. Height and age restrictions apply.
Food, Drinks, and Easter Activities
No adventure is complete without delicious refreshments. A variety of food and beverage options will be available from 9:30am to 3:30pm throughout the event.
For those visiting over the Easter long weekend (18–21 April 2025), special activities will be on offer, including the highly anticipated Giant Easter Egg Hunt. Visitors can purchase Mega Creatures day session tickets with an optional Easter Hunt add-on for a fun-filled holiday experience.
Stay and Play with Accommodation Packages
For those looking to extend the adventure, accommodation packages are available at Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens and Harrigan’s Hunter Valley, both just minutes from the event. These packages offer convenience and comfort for families making the most of their visit.
Mega Creatures Night Safari: A Dazzling After-Dark Experience
As the sun sets, the excitement continues with the Mega Creatures Night Safari, running nightly from 5 April to 4 May, 5pm to 9pm. This after-dark adventure brings the gardens to life with glowing dinosaurs, mythical dragons, and luminescent creatures roaming in a stunning light display.
Rides will also be available during the Night Safari from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, adding to the magical evening atmosphere.
