Just a few short months ago – you know, before all of this happened – we went along to a session at Pinot & Picasso, Newcastle. It was brilliant! Held in the marvellous Mitch Rev‘s gallery space the afternoon was so much fun, we came out inspired and with our very own, unique piece of art.
For those who don’t know about the concept you take along some wine and snacks (or pre-order an antipasto plate) and a friendly, knowledgeable host guides a small group of budding artists through the painting process. A canvas, brushes and all the paint you could possibly need are provided.
Over a period of few hours you let your creative juices flow (did we mention the wine?) and end up with a masterpiece to take home.
This is an experience we highly recommend. Unfortunately, like many other group and indoor activities the regular “in gallery” offering from Pinot & Picasso has been temporarily placed on hold. However, like many other businesses these guys have been quick to offer an on-line alternative.
You can now participate in live and free painting sessions at home! If you already have art supplies handy you are set. If not, you can order an Art Box billed as the “ultimate paint-at-home-starter-pack” to be delivered to your house.
And don’t worry if you haven’t painted since you were a kid, or you don’t have a creative bone in your body. You are in the comfort of your own home – have fun, we hope you enjoy!
