Two teams from Newcastle are set to battle it out against six other duos from around Australia in the new season of LEGO Masters Australia.

Brothers Henry and Joss say they are confident in their abilities to take home the crown and are already earmarked as ones to beat in the 2022 series.

Joss is already a bit of a mover and skier in the brick world, working at a local LEGO store and having one of his builds exhibited at the LEGO House Masterpiece Gallery in Denmark.

Extroverted introverts, Trent and Paul are a fun-loving, lively couple from Newcastle who became the first Australian gay men to be wed, in New Zealand in 2013, years before marriage equality laws were passed in Australia.

Trent says he got into LEGO as a child and would save his pocket money for a year to splurge on new sets.

The two local teams will have their work cut out for them with the new season promising some pretty extreme challenges including an episode that will see contestants building a model that can fly through a hoop of fire!

And in a program first, Hamish Blake, Ryan โ€œBrickmanโ€ McNaught, and the teams will also be heading out of the studio and into the world as their builds come face to face with the unpredictable Australian weather.

The 2022 season of LEGO Masters Australia is scheduled to premiere on Nine Network on 18 April.
