Last Dinosaurs are heading back to Newcastle this month, celebrating a decade of their beloved album Wellness with a special anniversary tour and a stop at King Street Bandroom.

The Brisbane indie-rock favourites will hit the road to mark 10 years since the release of their sophomore record, an album that proved to be a turning point for the band and helped shape the sound and creative independence they are known for today.

Joining them on the Australian run will be California indie-pop outfit Bad Suns, adding even more firepower to an already impressive lineup.

While Wellness may have arrived under the weight of expectations following the success of their debut album In A Million Years, the record ultimately became a catalyst for change.

The band embraced a more self-sufficient approach to songwriting and recording, building the confidence that would later fuel releases such as Yumeno Garden and cement their place as one of Australia’s most respected indie acts.

That evolution has paid off in a big way. Last Dinosaurs continue to attract audiences around the world, racking up more than 29 million streams in 2025 alone.

Along the way they’ve performed at major festivals including Lollapalooza, Corona Capital, All Things Go Festival and Splendour in the Grass, while sharing stages with artists such as Florence + The Machine, Foals, Foster The People and Matt & Kim.

The anniversary celebrations also coincide with the release of Wellnxss, a reimagined version of the original album that revisits the songs through a fresh creative lens.

For longtime fans, the tour offers a chance to reconnect with a record that helped define an era, while newer listeners can experience the songs that continue to influence the band’s direction today.

Last Dinosaurs will perform at King Street Bandroom in Newcastle on Thursday, 25 June as part of their 10 Year Wellness Anniversary Tour, with support from Bad Suns. Tickets are on sale now via threekingstouring.com.au.
