Lake Macquarie riders will be amongst the 150,000 commuter bike riders around Australia that will have their movements recorded this Tuesday 7 March as part of the Bicycle Networkโ€™s Super Tuesday.

It’s the countryโ€™s largest visual count of bike riders.

900 volunteers have put their hand up to help on Super Tuesday and count riders at intersections and bike paths between 7:00 and 9:00am.

Riders will be counted in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Hobart as well as regional areas including Lake Macquaire.

The information collected on the number of riders, direction of travel and gender will be used by local councils to improve bike conditions and build infrastructure to make it easier for people to ride.
