That’s because the fried chicken fiends have seen fit to bring back its calorific creation The Double, but this time with a decidedly Italian twist that is sure to have you singing That’s Amore.
That’s right, for a limited time, the iconic Double has been reimagined as the Pizza Double in a move that is sure to delight fast food fanciers everywhere.
Eschewing the time-wasting bun altogether, this burger gets down to business right away with two spicy Zinger fillets enveloping two fiery pepperoni slices, lashings of oozy cheese and classic Italian pizza sauce.
And before you say: ‘where’s the pineapple?’ well, it appears that the Colonel has very strong thoughts on this fruity inclusion.
“After making a delicious first impression on Aussies 10 years ago, we’re excited to bring back the iconic Double with a mouth-watering pizza twist,” KFC CMO Kristi Woolrych said.
“The Pizza Double is the perfect treat for those who love the best of both worlds, so we know fans of the original will go wild up for this level up. Long-time fans of the Double know that this beauty doesn’t hang around for long though, so don’t miss out this time around as we can’t say when it’ll be back again.”.
For all those looking to throw calorie caution to the wind, (go on, you totes deserve it!) or to surprise your housemate, partner or singles bubble buddy, the Pizza Double is also available for delivery exclusively via the KFC App – so you can enjoy the Colonel’s finest without leaving the comfort of your home.
