Newcastle is set to welcome a wave of nostalgia and rock ‘n’ roll swagger when former INXS frontman JD Fortune takes over the King St Bandroom in October.

The Canadian powerhouse will front a full band for his first-ever Australian headline tour, performing a set packed with INXS classics and fan favourites.

The show promises to be an electrifying celebration of one of Australia’s most iconic bands, with JD delivering hits like Need You Tonight, Never Tear Us Apart, Devil Inside, New Sensation, and Don’t Change, alongside tracks he co-wrote during his tenure with INXS, including Pretty Vegas and Devil’s Party.

It’s more than a covers show — it’s the real deal from the man who helped carry the torch after Michael Hutchence.

Fortune famously shot to fame in 2005 as the winner of Rock Star: INXS, going on to front the band for seven years, tour internationally, and appear on their final studio album Switch.

Now, after over a decade, he’s ready to reconnect with Aussie fans and celebrate the music that shaped his life — and ours.

JD Fortune will bring his Plays The Best Of INXS tour to Newcastle’s King St Bandroom on Wednesday, 15 October 2025. Tickets go on sale Friday 9 May at 10am via metropolistouring.com.
