Jack River will bring her Endless Summer sound to Newcastle when she performs an intimate Great Southern Nights show at King Street Band Room this May.
Australian artist, writer and producer Jack River, the musical moniker of Holly Rankin, will return to the stage in Newcastle for a special one-night performance as part of Great Southern Nights.
Rankin has carved out a reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling creatives, not only as a musician but as a writer, entrepreneur and cultural advocate.
From starting her own festival, Grow Your Own in Forster, to pushing for better representation of local music in advertising through the viral Our Soundtrack Our Stories campaign, she has consistently championed Australian artistry and community.
As Jack River, she has become a major force in the pop-indie landscape. With more than 100 million streams, a Platinum hit and multiple Gold singles, her impact has been felt across both radio and the national festival circuit.
Her debut album Sugar Mountain brought three ARIA Award nominations, an AIR Award nod, and recognition at the APRA Awards for her songwriting.
Her most recent album Endless Summer expands that vision, blending shimmering pop with themes of escapism in an increasingly chaotic world.
Its sun-drenched sound, warm synths, nostalgic melodies and laid-back rhythms paint the picture of a dreamy beach holiday set against a burning horizon. Rankin designed the record as an oasis, a reminder of the joy that still exists amid the noise.
The Newcastle show will see her strip things back for an intimate performance, offering fans a rare opportunity to hear favourites and new material in a close-quarters setting.
Jack River will hit King Street Band Room on Thursday, 14 May 2026. Full event details and ticket links are available through tickets.oztix.com.au.
