A few weeks ago the Adelaide 500 announced that Robbie Williams would headline their After Race Concert and today Supercars revealed that Aussie music icons Icehouse and Hilltop Hoods will lead the lineup for the Newcastle 500.

Icehouse will headline the opening night of entertainment on Friday 10 March, supported by Noiseworks frontman Jon Stevens and local legends The Screaming Jets.

“Headlined by the Hilltop Hoods and the iconic Icehouse, these are some of the best live acts we have ever assembled for a single Supercars event,” Supercars CEO Shane Howard said.

Music festival favourites, Hilltop Hoods will headline the Saturday night concert supported by Thelma Plum, San Cisco, Trials and Newcastle band, Trophy Eyes.

“This is the biggest lineup we have ever announced for the Newcastle event,” Howard continued.

“Having the concert stage within the precinct makes the transition for fans from the track a very easy one and itโ€™s a fitting way to celebrate our return to Newcastle.”

Access to both concerts will be included in all same-day Newcastle 500 tickets and includes free return public transport.

“The Newcastle 500 delivers more than $35 million annually in total economic impact and provides a significant stimulus to local tourism and accommodation providers and supports local jobs,” Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes said.

“Adding world-class musicians across two nights of entertainment will ensure even further support for local businesses, particularly throughout the hospitality and nighttime economy industries.”

Tickets for the Newcastle 500, which include entry to the concerts, are now on sale through Supercars.com and Ticketek.
