Newcastle Fringe is gearing up for its next instalment by throwing open the doors for artist registrations.

From Monday, 18 August, artists from all around the world will be invited to join Newcastle’s biggest celebration of independent, original, and unfiltered performance by applying to perform at the 2026 festival.

Unlike curated festivals, Newcastle Fringe prides itself on its no gatekeepers attitude. If you have something to say, sing, dance or shout, organisers want to hear from you. From stand-up and cabaret to physical theatre, spoken word, and the gloriously weird – everyone is welcome.

The 2026 festival will stretch over three weekends from the 14th to the 29th of March, continuing its legacy after last year’s event saw 94 acts deliver 203 shows to more than 14,000 attendees.

“This year, weโ€™re turning up the spark and sizzle, with our massive free FEAST opening event in Hamilton, a huge favourite with families, the return of regular highlights such as Choir Day, and three full weekends of Fringe magic,” Newcastle Fringe Chairperson, Brooke Twyford, said.

Registrations for the 2026 Newcastle Fringe open on Monday, 18 August and close on 30 September 2025. For more information, visit newcastlefringe.com.au.
