Hamilton mania has reached fever pitch since the recording of the transformative theatre experience hit streaming service, Disney Plus.
The production that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway has taken out any award that’s worth having on the mantle including a Tony, a Grammy®, and Olivier and it’s even won the Pulitzer Prize.
For the uninitiated (where have you been?!), Hamilton is the story of one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, Alexander Hamilton. It’s written by American composer, lyricist, actor, singer, rapper, producer, and playwright, Lin-Manuel Miranda and has become a true cultural phenomenon.
If everything goes accordingly, a production of Hamilton will hit our shores in March next year.
Here’s everything you need to know to get your hands on the hottest ticket in town for 2021.
The Australian season of Hamilton will make the Lyric Theatre in Sydney its home in 2021.
HAMILTON PRE SALE
Tickets go on pre-sale from Monday 24 August 2020.
General public tickets go on-sale on Tuesday 1 September 2020.
Hamilton will play (fingers crossed) at the Lyric from the 17th of March until the 1st of August 2021.
We’re told that ticket prices will vary depending on performance date, seat location, and during peak periods such as public and school holidays. A single ticket will probably set you back anywhere from $70 to $250.
To make things fair for everyone, there’ll be an 8 ticket limit per household.
Information on the Lyric Theatre website says there’ll be a ticket lottery for a limited number of $10 seats. Details are slim at this stage, but keep your eyes on the site for more info as it comes to hand.
