One of Australia’s most beloved and influential punk bands, Hard-Ons will hit the stage at the Hamilton Station Hotel in October as part of their 40th Anniversary Tour.
You am I frontman Tim Rogers will once again take on the vocals for the tour alongside original members Peter “Blackie” Black and Ray Ahn with Murray Ruse on drums.
The tour will see the iconic band celebrate four decades of their unique, high-energy music alongside the release of new music and a feature-length documentary.
Formed in high school in the multicultural suburb of Punchbowl, the Hard-Ons broke barriers with their diverse lineup and sound, merging punk with elements of thrash metal and psychedelia.
Their early days saw them navigating a scene resistant to their transgressive name and eclectic look, but their high-energy performances quickly garnered a dedicated following. Their influence spread internationally, with notable performances alongside legends like the Ramones and Nirvana, and numerous number-one hits on the Australian independent charts.
Despite a temporary split and individual side projects, the Hard-Ons regrouped in the 2000s, attracting a new generation of fans. Their relentless spirit has earned them the admiration of artists such as Dave Grohl and Malcolm Young, and their influence is evident across Australia’s alternative music scene. As they hit the stage in Newcastle, fans can expect an unforgettable night celebrating a band that has steadfastly embodied the punk rock ethos for four decades.
To celebrate the announcement of the tour the band has released a brand new single called Buzz Buzz Buzz.
The track, and razor-sharp pop-punk number co-written by Tim Rogers and Peter Black is the first taste from the band’s forthcoming third album, which promises a heavy pop influence while maintaining their signature loud and energetic style.
Hard-Ons will bring their 40th Anniversary Tour to the Hamilton Station Hotel on 27th October. You can get tickets now via oztix.com.au.
