Australian rock legends Boom Crash Opera are set to bring their Hands Up In The Air – The Singles Tour 2025 to Newcastle this November, lighting up Wallsend Diggers with four decades of anthemic, feel-good hits.

Celebrating 40 years since their formation in Melbourne, the tour promises a non-stop celebration of the band’s biggest singles, from the explosive debut Great Wall through to crowd favourites like Dancing In The Storm, Onion Skin, The Best Thing, and Hands Up In The Air.

It’s a rare chance for fans to hear the soundtrack of their youth brought to life on stage by the original voices behind it.

The Newcastle show will also feature Boom Crash Opera’s latest single Latest Hustle, a glam-infused rock stomper that captures the band’s signature energy with a modern twist.

The track is already being described as a contemporary cousin to Onion Skin, and fits right in with the band’s legacy of quirky, high-octane rock-pop.

Formed in 1985, Boom Crash Opera quickly carved out their place in Australia’s music history with 13 Top 50 singles and five charting albums. Their songs have become cultural touchstones, still echoing across sports stadiums and classic radio stations around the country.

With Dale Ryder, Pete Farnan, Peter “Maz” Maslen and John Favaro back on stage together, the band’s 2025 tour builds on their acclaimed run earlier this year with the Models, proving they’re just as electric today as ever. Fans in Newcastle can expect big sound, big nostalgia and even bigger sing-alongs.

Boom Crash Opera will hit Wallsend Diggers on Friday, 28 November. Tickets for the Hands Up In The Air – The Singles Tour go on sale from 10am, Friday 4 July at boomcrashopera.com.
