It’s out with the old all-you-can-eat and in with a completely new dining experience at the Mex Club in Mayfield thanks to the opening of the Hanbury 58 Food Collective.
Six unique food outlets have opened in the newly renovated space at MEX offering everything from burgers and schnitzels to flame-grilled ribs and Italian fare.
It’s kind of like a fancy food court, but you won’t find any bain-maries filled with day-old sweet and sour pork or fast food giants here.
In fact, the Hanbury 58 Food Collective is focused on serving up quality favourites in a space complete with a cocktail bar mixing up new and old creations and serving up whiskey and boutique gins.

SOHO GRILL
It’s a bit of a meat lover’s paradise at this Hanbury 58 Food Collective outlet. The menu offers an honest selection of steaks and sides, flame-grilled pork ribs, and skewers of meat including a surf and turf option
PROTIP: On Mondays, you can nab a skewer for just $19.
MARIA’S ITALIAN
The star of the show here are the hand-stretched pizzas but the Maria’s outlet also offers up a good selection of pasta and crispy colourful salads.
PROTIP: Head in for a 2-for-1 pizza deal every Thursday.
LULU’S SUNDAE BAR
Ok don’t tell the kids, but, the Hanbury 58 Food Collective has a Sundae Bar with Self-serve soft serve and a stack of toppings and lollies to take things REALLY over the top.
PROTIP: Every Sunday each kid’s meal purchased comes with a free soft serve with lollies!
THE CHICKEN SHOP!
Whether you like it crumbed or grilled, The Chicken Shop has you sorted. There’s a decent selection of toppers and sauces to choose from and they also serve bowls of wings and schnitzel-appropriate sides including Salt & vinegar onion rings.
PROTIP: Tuesday night is $15 Schnitzel night. See you there!
CHIPPIES
Chippies is kind of like your favourite fish and chip shop, but fancy. You can get everything from fresh oysters to a variety of fish cooked the way you like and a modest, but good, lineup of burgers.
PROTIP: A burger and chips is just $14 every Wednesday.
BUTTER CAFÉ
Butter Cafe is open every day from 11:00 am. The cafe is serving up coffee of all shapes and sizes alongside a selection of cakes, pastries and wraps.
