Three days of celebrating women in sport! That’s what’s happening this weekend at the Lake Mac Women’s Sport Festival, an inclusive event for newcomers and professional athletes alike.
The festival offers three days of events including Sport Open Day and a family fun day with sporting clinics, sporting stalls, food trucks and live music.
One of the festival highlights is ticketed breakfast with Inspirational Woman Athletes as part of International Woman’s Day with Kerri Pottharst and Sam Poolman sharing the lessons they learned in their sporting careers.
The Festival will continue the following two days with the Hunter First Women’s Sporting Symposium which will feature sector professionals and Australian sporting legends.
Together they will tackle some of the key issues facing women in Australian sport including participation and inclusion, pay equity, toxic culture, female body identity disparity, future approaches and opportunities.
These sessions will no doubt feature inspiring conversations of benefit for aspiring professional athletes and coaches and administrators of women’s sport.
The Lake Mac Women’s Sport Festival kicks off this Friday and runs for the full weekend. You can check out the programme below and visit lakemac.com.au/Events for tickets and find more information
