Guide Dogs NSW/ACT will team up with the Newcastle Knights NRLW side for a special charity game day at McDonald Jones Stadium this Sunday.

Fans can expect plenty of furry fun, with Gulliver, the five-metre-tall Guide Dogs mascot, making a big entrance at the ground.

He’ll be joined by working Guide Dogs and adorable puppies in training, offering picture-perfect moments and a chance to meet the four-legged heroes who change lives every day.

As the Knights’ official charity partner for the 2025 season, Guide Dogs NSW/ACT will use the game to shine a light on the vital services they provide to people living with low vision and blindness in the Hunter.

The day will also feature a special appearance from a local community member who will share their personal experience of how Guide Dogs services have impacted their life.

Visitors can show their support by grabbing pup-themed merchandise, snapping photos with Gulliver, or entering a major charity raffle with prizes up for grabs.

Every purchase and donation helps fund the organisation’s work, with each Guide Dog costing more than $50,000 and two years of training before being matched with someone in need.

The partnership between Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and the Knights NRLW aims to not only raise funds but also strengthen connections with the Newcastle community.

With the support of one of the region’s most loved sporting teams, the organisation is looking to further its reach and commitment to supporting Australians living with low vision and blindness.

The Guide Dogs Pup-Up will take place during the Newcastle Knights vs. St George Illawarra Dragons NRLW game at McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday, 14 September. Kick-off is at 1:45 pm, with tickets available via the Newcastle Knights website.
