National treasure, Gleny Rae is back with a brand new single called Ribcage.
The song is both fragile and strong, with a massive chorus featuring backing vocals from local supergroup, Hot Flush.
Robbie Long engineered the record and also plays drums, bass and guitar on the track which features a lineup of some pretty accomplished musos including Shannon Bourne, Laura Sands, Jason Nelson and Shane Shanks.
Gleny will debut the single live with a full band at Lazybones Lounge in Marrickville tonight (Friday, 29 February) with support from Zoe K. You can get tickets here.
A passionate educator, Gleny left Newcastle in 2021 to teach music in Alice Springs and fulfil a calling to work on community with indigenous children. She’s a Golden Fiddle Award winner, an Australian Folk Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year, and an advocate for people who are often overlooked or forgotten. Put simply, she’s a bloody legend.
You can listen to Ribcage and buy the track over at bandcamp.com.
