Glen has taken time out from family and work to share the 5 albums he would like with him if he was stranded on a desert island.
AJA – STEELY DAN | This album is sheer perfection as far as musicianship goes. An A-Z of amazing session musicians such as Larry Carlton, Bernard Purdie, Steve Gadd and others mixed with amazing arrangements. I still listen to this album at least once a month.
APOSTROPHE – FRANK ZAPPA | Zappa was the mad scientist of 20th century music and this album contains many of the classic Zappa elements. Mindblowing arrangements combined with incredible musicianship and witty lyrics. There is always something new to hear each listen. Don’t eat the yellow snow!!
IV – TOTO | This album changed my life! Listening to this album influenced me to become a professional musician. A lot of people like to take the piss out of Toto, however there is no debating that they are amazing musicians who still sound incredible live. Steve Lukather, Jeff Porcaro and David Paiche are gods! Not to mention a plethora of other musos who have been a part of Toto over the years.
BACK IN BLACK – AC/DC | Although I still prefer the Bonn Scott years I think this album is the quintessential rock album. The intro to Hells Bells still gives me goosebumps. This is the ultimate driving album.
TAKE 5 – DAVE BRUBECK | This album was recorded over 2 days and you can hear some nuances in the playing, which I love. A groundbreaking album of its time and sonically perfect. A great album cover too!
