Emerging local artists will come together for a special showcase of their work on Thursday, the 27th of November at The Great Northern Hotel in Newcastle.
The event will feature 30 of Newcastle’s best emerging talent spanning genres such as fashion, music, visual and performing arts, and photography for an event that the organisers have called CURRENT.
“There is a new landscape for artists today. Traditional forums and paths for showcasing art have dried up or are no longer proving as effective. RAW is giving emerging artists a platform from which to launch their creative careers in a world where everyone is vying for attention.” Showcase Director Timothy Jackson said.
“Our most recent show at the Great Northern Hotel was a brilliant success. Hundreds of people came to the event and there was not a single big-name ‘established’ artist on the bill. Newcastle locals are clearly excited about the wealth of homegrown talent in their own city.”
