The Hunter Wetlands Centre is once again gearing up for its annual Easter Fun Day.

Promising a packed morning of activities, the event invites families from across Newcastle and the Hunter region to enjoy Easter-themed entertainment in a unique natural setting.

Kids can expect a visit from the Easter Bunny, plus plenty of hands-on fun including face painting, jumping castles, craft activities, and up-close reptile encounters.

“This is one of our most loved community events,” General Manager James Wilson said.

“Easter Fun Day is the one day a year we go all out for families. Our team of volunteers love seeing the joy on kidsโ€™ faces and they work hard to put together a value-packed program.”

Parents wonโ€™t be left out eitherโ€”with food options like a sausage sizzle, cafรฉ dining, or a DIY picnic, there’s something for everyone. And once you’re done, you can explore the wetlands’ scenic trails until 4:00pm.

The Centreโ€™s 45-hectare site is internationally recognised for its ecological value, home to over 200 bird species annuallyโ€”including the rare Regent Honeyeater.

The Hunter Wetlands Centre’s Easter Fun Day is happening on Saturday, 19 April from 9:30am to 1:00pm. Tickets are $25 per family online or $30 at the gate, with individual tickets at $9.50 and children under three free. Visit wetlands.org.au to find out more.
