Acclaimed Ghanian-Australian artist Genesis Owusu is set to release his third studio album, REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE, and will bring his electrifying live show to Newcastle this May.
Following recent singles STAMPEDE, PIRATE RADIO and DEATH CULT ZOMBIE, the album layers neo-soul, alt-pop, synth-punk, deep funk and Brit rock into a genre-defying exploration of contemporary life and raw human emotion.
Owusu’s previous works, including 2021’s ARIA-winning debut Smiling with No Teeth and 2023’s STRUGGLER, have established him as one of Australia’s most visionary artists.
REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE promises to push that creative boundary even further, melding personal reflection with societal commentary over a bold, eclectic soundscape.
To celebrate the release, Owusu is hitting the road with a national tour. Kicking off at Bar on the Hill in May, the tour will hit Canberra on release day, May 15, before heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Fans can expect a high-energy performance blending music, visuals, and Owusu’s unique stage presence, bringing his latest artistic vision to life while highlighting the songs from his critically acclaimed catalogue.
