Newcastle and the Hunter really turned it on over the long weekend. Newcastle Live was on the scene to capture some of the magic moments you shared with us.

Saturday saw us on the road for a trip up to the home of the Gumball and Pigsty festivals, ‘Dashville‘. Their newest venture, ‘Skyline’ is a 2 day celebration of Americana, Psychedelia and Alternative Country Music. We spent the afternoon enjoying world class live music from Elwood Myre, Perry Keyes, Chris Pickering, Baghead, Leo Rondeau, Ruby Boots, Van Walker, Green Mohair Suits and Mick Daley’s Corporate Raiders.  As always Dashville put on brilliant day of live music and we can’t wait to get back there again.

Then we were back on the road headed towards to Newcastle’s  iconic Civic Theatre for the RockWiz Live road show. And what a great night with Julia, Brian and the RockWiz crew. The show kept the big crowd entertained all night, topped off with fantastic guest performances from  Steve Kilbey (The Church), Ella Hooper, Col Joye and  Adalita (Migic Dirt). Check out the gallery below to see if you can see yourself.

Sunday we were on the deck at Lake Macquarie Yacht Club for an Acoustic show from Aussie rock legend Richard Clapton. The line up featured some killer opening sets from locals Brien McVernon, Morgana Osaki  and young guns, Throw Me To The Wolves.

Sunday night saw Newcastle’s very own super group The Monsters of Rock with new monster Holly Wilson rock the Wicko to it’s foundations topped off with a jaw dropping guest appearance from Lianna Rose on Harp.

This city rocks 52 weeks a year, and the October long weekend was no exception.
