More than 1500 revellers turned out to Belmont Foreshore on Saturday for the inaugural Belmont Beers, Blues and BBQ Fest.
Blues heroes The Bondi Cigars and Kevin Borich joined forces with local acts Catfish Soup and the Greg Bryce Blues Band for a stunning lineup of entertainment.
The cool tunes were augmented with some tasty treats from some of the Hunter’s best ‘low and slow’ barbecue exponents such as Ranga’s Barbecue, Piggy Smalls Barbecue, the Crafty Pit and Miss Mabel’s and some of the best craft beer from across NSW, the ACR and Victoria.
Lake Macquarie Council’s arts, culture and tourism manager Jacqui Hemsley said the day was a resounding success.
โWe are extremely happy โ not just with the turn-out but with the way the crowd behaved and how we were able to really showcase the lake and what we have to offer,โ she said.
โThis is the first step in our move towards bigger, bolder and better events right across Lake Macquarie.โ
