Over the weekend, A Day on the Green transformed the stunning open-air venue of Bimbadgen into a haven for indie and Americana music lovers.
Headlined by Australiaโs most soulful siblings, The Teskey Brothers, the evening crescendoed as their unforgettable set unfolded just as the sun dipped below the horizon. Josh Teskeyโs gravelly, emotive vocals paired perfectly with the bandโs lush harmonies, creating a vibe that was as intimate as it was electric.
Earlier, the foreboding clouds made way for A Band of Horses, whose spellbinding performance brought a dreamy intensity to the day. Opening with the haunting Is There a Ghost, the band set a reflective mood before launching into crowd favourites like The Great Salt Lake and Laredo. Their shimmering guitar work and poignant lyrics seemed tailor-made for the picturesque outdoor setting, offering moments of pure connection that lingered long after the music faded.
Another standout was Sierra Ferrell, who captivated the crowd with her unique blend of vintage-inspired Americana. On her debut Australian tour, Ferrell delivered a powerhouse performance full of charm and control, leaving both longtime fans and newcomers in awe. Her presence on stage was magnetic, proving why sheโs quickly becoming a must-see act.
From soulful ballads to atmospheric rock and rootsy charm, A Day on the Green at Bimbadgen was a celebration of artistry and connection, all set against the breathtaking beauty of the Hunter Valley.
