Hunter Drama’s beloved school holiday workshops are returning this April, offering young performers the chance to immerse themselves in musical theatre and playwriting for a day.

Following a sell-out season in January, the popular Musical in a Day is back, and due to overwhelming demand, Play in a Day has been added to the lineup.

These exciting one-day workshops provide students from Years 2 to 6 with the opportunity to develop their performance skills in a fun, creative environment.

This year’s Musical in a Day workshops will feature numbers from Dot & the Kangaroo JR., the same production that will be running concurrently at the Civic Playhouse.

Students will have the chance to learn and perform different musical numbers from the show on two separate workshop days, making it a unique experience for those eager to participate in more than one session.

For young theatre enthusiasts who prefer a non-musical approach, the Play in a Day workshop will feature themes of Shipwrecked! and Silly Circus, allowing students to create and perform their own original play in just one day.

Designed for all experience levels, these workshops are an excellent way for students to explore theatre, build confidence, and develop new skills. Each day runs from 9 AM to 3 PM, ensuring a full day of creative engagement. As an added bonus, each final performance is recorded and shared with parents, allowing families to enjoy and celebrate their child’s achievements.

At just $75 per session, the workshops offer an affordable and enriching school holiday activity. Creative Kids Vouchers are also accepted, reducing the cost to just $25 per day. Workshops will take place from 14th to 17th April at Hunter Drama’s Islington location. Parents are encouraged to book early via hunterdrama.com.au.
