The 2019 Newcastle Whisky & Craft Spirits Festival is on this weekend and tickets are moving faster than a bottle of Jamieson on St Patrick’s Day!
Held at one of Newcastle’s jazziest watering holes Babylon, the festival will showcase some of Australia’s and the world’s best whisky and craft spirits.
Event sponsor The Dalmore will kick things off with an exclusive pre-event VIP masterclass that will see their range of exquisite whiskies paired with the sumptuous food offerings from Babylon.
Then, the festival proper will get underway with more than 70 brands of whiskies, vodkas, rums, gins, and liqueurs available to sample.

One to watch out for is certainly local lauded gin producer The Farmers Wife which recently took out a silver medal at the London Spirits Competition.
Founder and master distiller Kylie Sepos said she couldn’t wait to be a part of the inaugural festival.
“Itโs wonderful to be part of an event that not only showcases but celebrates Australian Craft Spirits, especially our local ones. We are really looking forward to it,” she said.
Buoyed by the amount of interest already shown in the festival, organisers John and Phil Elsey are confident this inaugural hit-out will be a big success.
โThis is going to be an amazing event for Newcastle. We have been to similar shows around Australia and we feel that we have stepped this up to another level.โ
Oh and the festival doesn’t end with an afternoon of sampling top class spirits and food either.
After the tastings have ended the doors will swing open to the public and Newcastle Jazz band Soda will be there to ensure the party goes on well into the night.
The 2019 Newcastle Whisky & Craft Spirits Festival is on at Babylon on Saturday 24 August.
General admission is just $79 and includes a tasting glass, all tastings and a food voucher so you can taste the venues amazing food for yourself.
