Newcastle Rock & Roll stalwarts The Delta Lions have released a brand new single called ‘Old Bones’. Which is now available on all major streaming services, as well as iTunes and Google Play.
The new song, the band’s first release since last year’s Smoke Bombs 7″, is somewhat of a departure from the band; a first step away from the bar band sound that they established themselves on. The new track brings in a heavier 90’s influence, sitting nicely between acts such as You Am I, Bob Mould, and Superchunk.
The creation of this single is also a deeply Novocastrian affair; the entire song was created within the walls of Novatone Studios, a studio built and run by the members of The Delta Lions. The band took a DIY approach this release, handling everything from recording and mastering to making their won artwork.
The Delta Lions will be showing off ‘Old Bones’ and a selection of other songs when they support fellow local Rock & Roll band Adeline Pines at The Lass O’Gowrie on Friday, September 2.
