Three First Nations artists have joined forces with Cricut to launch a powerful new digital design collection in honour of NAIDOC Week 2025, with proceeds going to Indigenous charities.

Kyralee Shields, a proud Dharug woman, Leah Cummins, a Narlung woman on Quandamooka Country, and Caitlin Trindall, a Gomeroi woman on Dharawal Country, are the creative forces behind the artwork, each piece carrying strong themes of culture, storytelling and community.

The collection, available now via Cricutโ€™s Design Space platform, blends tradition with technology, giving creators across the globe the opportunity to engage with Indigenous culture through art.

For Novocastrians with a Cricut machine at home, this is an accessible way to celebrate NAIDOC Week from the comfort of your table.

The initiative is more than a celebrationโ€”it’s also a fundraiser. Proceeds from the design collection will support two Indigenous-led charities: Childrenโ€™s Ground and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

The charities were personally nominated by the artists, with Cricut pledging to match all donations made through design purchases in June and July.

Caitlin says this yearโ€™s NAIDOC theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, is a reminder of the legacy she wants to leave for her sonโ€”one that honours Elders, preserves language and keeps culture alive through storytelling and art.

Kyralee added that platforms like Cricut allow Aboriginal art and perspectives to be seen, understood and appreciated in everyday life.

For Newcastle creatives looking to support First Nations communities and learn more about Indigenous culture through hands-on artmaking, this collaboration offers a meaningful opportunity to do just that.

As NAIDOC Week celebrations continue across the country, initiatives like this ensure Indigenous voices, cultures, and languages are heard loud and clear, not only in galleries or classrooms but in homes and maker spaces throughout the Hunter and beyond. Check out the full gallery on Cricut.
