Some of Newcastle’s most well-known artists will be exhibiting works alongside a raft of emerging talent at the Lock-Up next month.
Collect is the Lock Up’s annual fundraising exhibition and this eclectic group show will go a long way to helping the gallery continue to support and showcase our formidable crop of talented creatives.
In fact, with all showcased works available for purchase, 40 per cent of all sales will go towards supporting the gallery’s artistic program including its Young and Emerging Curator internship.
The internship has been awarded, this year to Sophie Weaver, who is currently in her third year studying a Bachelor of Creative Industries with a major in Visual Arts and the University of Newcastle, between volunteering at the Lock-Up, utilising her interest in curating and gallery management to help out at events.
Now in its fourth year, the 2021 iteration of Collect includes a diverse line up of emerging and established Newcastle artists.
And you will find works by the likes of Michael Bell, Sally Bourke, Lottie Consalvo, Lucas Grogan, Dani Marti and James Drinkwater to name a few.
Works will be available for purchase both in the gallery and via the Lock-Up’s online shop..
Collect is on at The Lock-Up from Saturday 5 June to Sunday 27 June. Head here for more information.
