Looking for the perfect October long weekend escape? The Central Coast has you covered with Coastie Carnie Fair Day, a dazzling celebration of culture, community and coastline set to take over Umina Beach this Sunday.

The beachfront park will be transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour, music and festivity. Visitors can dip in the surf, roll out a picnic rug, and enjoy a program that blends carnival fun with cultural connection.

The free, all-ages event promises something for everyone, from mainstage shows to handmade markets, global eats and family-friendly activities.

Music lovers are in for a treat with a line-up that includes Greg Gould, Stellar Addiction, Non Binary Code, Frock Hudson and Sexy Galexy, alongside DJs, community choirs and local legends.

Families can enjoy the Rainbow Family Area with Aboriginal Storytime, Drag Storytime, a kids’ disco and circus play, while teens have their own dedicated hangout zone.

For dog lovers, the Puparazzi Pooch Parade at 10:30am is a must-see, with Glamour Boi Sexy Galexy hosting a costumed canine spectacular.

This year’s theme, Strength in Unity, underscores the festival’s deeper message of diversity and togetherness. The Coastal Twist Festival, which runs over six days and fifteen events, is about more than entertainment; it’s a call to celebrate inclusivity and community resilience.

Now in its seventh year, Coastal Twist has grown into a cultural movement, cementing the Central Coast as a hub of creativity and acceptance.

From cabaret and drag brunches to workshops and parties, the festival continues to push boundaries while welcoming everyone to join the celebration.

Coastie Carnie Fair Day takes place on Sunday, 5 October from 10am to 5pm at Umina Beachfront Park. Entry is free, the event is all-ages, and dogs are welcome. For the full program of Coastal Twist Festival events, visit coastaltwist.org.au.
