Clyde St Arts has just announced their annual Open Markets, a one-night-only celebration of art, music and community this December.

The Hamilton North creative hub will open its doors from 4 to 9pm, showcasing the talents of more than 30 independent artists alongside market stalls, live music, DJs, food trucks, karaoke and a family movie screening.

Tenants of Clyde St Arts include local favourites such as Upcycle Newcastle, OzHarvest, Earthen Rhythms, FeatherEdge, BRB Ceramics and The Creator Incubator.

The precinct spans 25,000sqm of repurposed industrial space, giving new life to buildings with deep historical ties to Newcastle and the Hunter region.

The Creator Incubator will feature over 30 open studios, highlighting both emerging and established local artists. OzHarvest, celebrating 20 years, will host a BBQ fundraiser, while Upcycle Newcastle will offer products made from repurposed textiles including denim, hats and sailbags. The event promises a mix of creativity, sustainability and community spirit.

Live performances will be delivered by Midnight Dreaming, Islington PS Band, HHRD, Frog Impostor, Earthen Rhythms and Fungas, with DJs keeping the energy alive throughout the evening.

Families can also enjoy a dedicated movie screening, making the night an all-ages celebration of Newcastle’s thriving arts scene.

Clyde St Arts Open Markets take place on Friday, December 12, from 4–9pm at 50 Clyde St, Hamilton North. Entry is free. For updates, visit 50clydestart.com.au or follow @50clydest. This is a one-night-only opportunity to shop local, discover unique art and support Newcastle’s creative community.
