Maitland Park will come alive next week when Newcastle Permanent’s much-loved Cinema Under the Stars event hits town.
There’ll be live local music, family-friendly entertainment, and activities planned before the movie begins at sundown. And food stalls will be on site serving up a range of delicious eats — perfect for families looking to enjoy dinner picnic-style on the grass before the main event begins.
The event has become a cherished tradition across regional NSW, giving locals a chance to come together for an evening of community connection and entertainment.
“As a customer-owned organisation, we’re incredibly proud to give back to our communities and see the return of our Cinema Under the Stars events, which have become a staple for more than 15 years,” Newcastle Permanent spokesperson Paul Juergens said.
This year’s feature film, The Wild Robot, tells the story of Roz, a robot who finds herself stranded in the wilderness and must learn to adapt, survive, and form unlikely friendships along the way.
“The adventures of Roz the robot and her quest to survive and build friendships is set to spark your emotions and warm your heart,” Paul Juergens said.
Our tip is to grab a blanket, pack some nibbles in your picnic basket, and get ready to recharge your batteries under the stars.
Cinema Under The Stars is happening on Friday, 10 October at Maitland Park. Gates open from 5:30 pm. To find out more visit newcastlepermanent.com.au.
