After two years of COVID-enforced hibernation, Newcastle Permanent is rolling out the red carpet for a very special Cinema Under the Stars later this year.
The free event, to be held in late October 2022, will see families flock to King Edward Park for a screening of the feel-good animation, Sing 2.
“After two years feeling disconnected from each other, this is the perfect opportunity to share an experience with our friends, family and neighbours in the open air of King Edward Park, one of Newcastleโs most beautiful locations. With its natural amphitheatre, itโs made for movies,” Newcastle Permanent CEO Bernadette Inglis said.
Kicking off at 5pm, the jam-packed evening of family-friendly entertainment will also include live music, free childrenโs activities, roving acts and free popcorn, with the feature film beginning at sundown.
“Cinema Under the Stars is always so well received by the community, with thousands of people of all ages coming along to enjoy a night of fun and laughter โ and popcorn, of course,” Ms Inglis said.
The event will also feature a lineup of local vendors serving up a variety of food options from snacks all the way up to dinner options.
Cinema Under the Stars will screen Sing 2 at King Edward Park in Newcastle on 22 October 2022. The event will start at 5pm with the film to begin screening at sundown. A free shuttle bus will be operating, visit newcastlepermanent.com.au/cinema to find out more.
