It’s been 30 years since Ausmusic legends, Choirboys formed in the lounge room of Mark Gable’s home in Sydney. The band will draw from that 30 years of memory making when they hit the stage at Wallsend’s Mezz Bar on October 13.

No one expected the formation of Choirboys all those years ago would lead to songs that have captured the hearts of the Australian public and the history pages of Australian Music.

The iconic band are now an essential part of our Australian culture having penned one of Australia’s unofficial anthems ‘Run To Paradise’. With other great Aussie rock hits such as ‘Boys Will Be Boys’, ‘Struggle Town’ and ‘Never Gonna Die’, Choirboys epitomise the essence of the Australian pub culture, which is why they are viewed by many as the quintessential Australian rock band.

And what’s their secret to longevity, how have they managed to stay together when so many have fallen off the radar? “Because we bloody love it!” says Gable with much enthusiasm. “CHOIRBOYS is exactly the kind of band that I always wanted to be in as a kid, so why not keep on doing it till you die. It is so much fun being in this band.”
