This month Newcastle Live teamed up with Cattleyard Brewing Co to curate their monthly mixtape.

Our Managing Editor, Dan Beazley, and host of Newcastle Live Radio’s The Good Stuff, Bonnie Anne, took the opportunity to celebrate our local music scene with a playlist stacked with homegrown goodies.

The founders of one of the country’s most loved regional touring festivals, Groovin the Moo, started Cattleyard Brewing Co in 2017 and have been brewing delicious beers ever since.

Rod Little and Steve Halpin of Cattleyard Promotions, the people behind Groovin’, put their heads together to develop a tasty and thirst-quenching session beer.

The brews have been a massive hit at their festivals and now you can find their Lager, Pale Ale and Summer Red out taps and in fridges across multiple venues in the Hunter.

“Bonnie and I both found it really hard to pick just 25 songs to showcase our amazing local music scene,” Managing Editor, Dan Beazley said.

“Cattleyard were a little lenient and let us throw in a few extras, but it was still hard.

“Kind of like choosing your favourite children.”

The playlist, available now on Spotify, features acts like Cooks and Bakers Grace Turner, lamphead, Hand Models, Turpentine Babycino, Acacia Blue, Slapjack, Chloe Gill, Grace Aberhart, Piper Butcher, Daphzie and The Appointments

“These are just some of the local artists that are representing Newcastle as young professionals,” Newcastle Live Radio host, Bonnie said.

“They are all so dedicated to shaping their sound, image and performance to the best of their ability.”

After you’ve finished listening to this month’s playlist, you can dive into the back catalogue of Cattleyard Brewing Co Monthly Mix Tapes too. Local music legend, and founder of Fuzion Management, Belle Taylor’s is an absolute cracker.

Hit the Cattleyard Brewing Co website for a QandA with Dan and Bonnie about the mixtape, and to find out more about Cattleyard’s yummy beer.
