When Byran Christiansen steps onto the stage at Belmont 16s on Saturday, 10 November for the No Quarter ‘Hammer of the Gods’ Led Zeppelin show, he does so as a fan.
During his time recreating the magic of Jimmy Page as part of the show, Byran has gained a unique perspective on why the songs of Led Zeppelin remain some of the most exciting music we’ve ever heard.
“Led Zeppelin is timeless,” Byran tells us over the phone during our interview.
“It was basically a super band. They were some of the most brilliant musicians around, and they formed this band that created timeless music that keeps finding an audience generation after generation”.
No Quarter has been wowing audiences all over the world in their authentic tribute stage show for more than 15 years and has shared the stage with such legendary artists as Peter Frampton, Foreigner, Steppenwolf, Loverboy, Jefferson Starship and many others. Band members take on the characters of John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and bring each of them to the stage in their absolute prime.
“We aim to recreate what it was like to see Led Zeppelin at the time” Byran explains.
“I watched hours and hours of concert footage. We studied the way they took their songs to different places when they played live. That’s what we’re recreating in the show”.
